Wynter began her professional journey in the kitchen after spending a year in Paris, France. She began her training under an incredibly knowledgeable and self-taught chef, learning the basics of French Cuisine and wonder of gastronomy. Upon returning to her home in New York, Wynter enrolled in The French Culinary Institute in the City and was classically trained under the supervision and guidance of Jacques Pepin and other highly ranked chefs. After graduation in 1989, Wynter had the honor of being called a chef herself. She was now armed with the basics of what it takes to be professional in the kitchen; attention to detail, knife skills and all of the fundamentals of cooking basics including flambéing, sautéing, poaching, braising, grilling, and baking.
Over the past 30 years, the chef's journey has taken her from some of the most sought after restaurants in Fairfield County, to corporate food management, and catering.
While raising her two daughters, (her most important role in life so far), Wynter ran culinary camps for kids and worked at a company doing food demos for high end kitchen products. She became one of the top- ranking sales associates in the area, only because of her passion for cooking and showing people how easy it can be.
Over the past several years, Wynter has been working as a private chef and her style is now her own. Her attention to detail, love of family, gathering, success in small business and overwhelming amounts of love are all poured into her food.
She has now launched “Wynter’s Whisk”, a small catering company where she will help you with your culinary needs.
